About the event
Backwoods Cooking Competition
Scouts will arrive at the HQ for 8pm on Friday 9th May, where in small teams they will plan a menu to cook Lunch for Saturday 10th May on an open fire, the teams need to think about budgeting and a theme for their team - will gain more points. Have Supper and chill out for the night & stay over. They just need a sleeping bag, pillow & change of clothes. Depending on the weather the Scouts may need waterproofs and definitely boots/strong shoes whilst outside.
Saturday will see the Scouts waking up and having breakfast all together, then they will travel to the Tesco Express in Middleton to purchase the food ingredients and any themed items for their lunch.
Once back at the headquarters they will dig fire pits and light fires to cook their bought items. Judges will be watching for teamwork, safety, cookin…
